Why the Eagles are wearing black and white uniforms — not green — as the home team in Brazil

The Eagles will wear a new uniform color combination in the season opener in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers: black helmet, white jersey, black pants.
 The lack of a green base color for any of those elements caught attention because of months of speculation about whether the Eagles would avoid green considering the game will be played in Corinthians Arena, where the soccer club Corinthians plays — and loathes the rival Palmeiras, whose base color is green.
 As the home team, the Eagles could choose their uniforms for this game. The soccer clubs factored into their selection, although the team says it had less to do with avoiding green and more to do with a nod to the home club.
