Of course the Philadelphia Flyers, fresh off blowing a 3-0 lead to the floundering Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, would go into Winnipeg and take down the team with the best record in the NHL with their backup goalie in net.
And of course, that backup goalie would be the single biggest reason for the win.
That's hockey for you.
Ivan Fedotov was a beast in net for the Flyers, making 29 saves on 30 shots and leading his club to a 2-1 shootout victory over the Winnipeg Jets. Matvei Michkov scored the only goal in the skills competition, while Jamie Drysdale was the only Flyer to best all-world netminder Connor Hellebuyck in regulation. He stopped 31 shots in defeat.
