NEWARK -- The Philadelphia Flyers may not be able to outskill the New Jersey Devils just yet. But they apparently can still find a way to outscore them.
In a tight-checking affair consisting of just 31 combined shots on goal -- 18 for the Flyers, 13 for the Devils -- it was Bobby Brink who stepped up as the late hero, taking a Noah Cates feed with 7:16 remaining and fooling New Jersey goalie Jake Allen to lead the Flyers to a hard-fought 3-1 victory.
Matvei Michkov added a breakaway goal, and Travis Konecny finished things off with a last-second empty netter. And despite the challenges that can come with a light workload, Sam Ersson stood tall in net, stopping 12 shots to earn the win. Allen...
