Hope he hits his shot when it counts, or Morey will hear it about passing on Dalton Knecht.

Hey Derek great article. My concern with McCain is very clear – for me, he fits neither the present nor the future. In the present, we really could have used someone who could be played in the next two years as part of a title contending team – my guess is he will just not develop that quickly (I hope I’m wrong). But 3-4 years from now, as Joel and PG are getting older, this is Tyrese’s team – and McCain definitely doesn’t fit next to Tyrese. So at a time when McCain will presumably be coming into his prime, he won’t fit this situation at all. Sure, he could be traded, fine. But I really wanted us to draft a guy who fit either of those two things: 1) projected as potentially immediately helpful in the next year or two or 2) projected as a helpful piece next to Maxey in 3-4 years. McCain will have a good career I believe, but this draft pick made no sense whatsoever. And yes, per the other comment, let’s hope Dalton Knecht doesn’t help LA too much next year.
