Brand never had full authority in his first run. Remember the Goldman – Sox executive who was the lead in having them trade away Mikal Bridges for Zhaire Smith and a pick? If he was put in charge again I’d have no problem with that.

Josh Harris, as a founder and principal of Apollo. the Leveraged Buyout Fund (aka Private Equity) is quite used to avoiding taxes of any kind. So no wonder he wants to avoid the luxury tax at whatever cost to the team’s success.
The infamous “Carried Interest” rule which allows him and other PE firm principals to pay half the tax they should pay on their income is the tax rule that many politicians (of both parties) have allowed themselves to be bought off by guys like Harris.

Sell the Sixers Harris, you still have a NFL team, a NHL hockey team a Premier league team to boost your ego

If Harris takes questions he needs to answer whether ducking the tax was his directive. I know he’ll dance around it, but hoping someone pushes him on it.
