This deadline was terrible. You can’t trade for Hield (a win-now move) at the same time that you punt for the summer (every other move). And now you’ve eliminated the value in the expirings you acquired for Harden, while also having no expirings on the books to move next year either. The free agency class is a disaster. Any good player who shakes loose is someone the Sixers can still get outbid for because the Sixers have limited draft capital and exactly zero tradeable salary or young players that would be of interest to a team dealing a quality talent. The cupboard is bare, the market is non-existent, and the Sixers just missed out on this round of musical chairs at the worst possible moment.
