Its about tanking for the two Philly winter teams. Top five positions in the coming draft are critical, as both teams need a young building block superstar to rebuild. Paul George is a waste of resources, hopefully Morey can move him this off season and free up some cap room, maybe for a couple of expiring contracts to a desperate GM trying to save his job with a Championship run next year, thinking PG is all that is needed. That is what fooled Morey, so there has to be another GM out there he can flip the mistake to. Embiid is what he is, and Sixers have to act as if he is done, and rebuild with kids. Hopefully the draft lottery goes the Sixers way and they can find another Charles Barkley with the 6th pick of the draft. Otherwise, its going to be a long decade of barren winters in Philly sports.

Trading George won’t open up any cap space. Pretty sure Kyle just did an entire write up on this.

Not initially, but after next year it will, if he is traded for expiring contracts.

The key is the rebuild starts now. Embiid’s body is failing him. We should be happy if he can go another year or two. It a shame the team never had a better mix of players around him. It’s a shame they never either had or played a true backup center with him. They have been poor at player development and maybe now know you need a mix of young and old. Not just for on the court but financially.
