One thing is painfully clear over the first month of the 2025 Phillies season: the bullpen needs help. They're hoping that maybe, prospect Seth Johnson will be able to provide it.
The starting pitching (sans Aaron Nola) is a strength. Some would say it is the strength of the team. And with Ranger Suarez prepared to rejoin the rotation, and Andrew Painter seemingly on the way at some point down the road, there simply won't be enough starts to go around for everyone. That's not a bad problem to have -- it also means that if a starter where to hit the IL, like Suarez did to start the season, the Phillies have a quality option in place to take the job until the walking wounded return.
