Eagles draft ‘Top-10 player’ Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell: 5 thoughts on 1st-round pick, including why he might be more pass rusher than off-ball LB

The Eagles traded up one spot from No. 32 to No. 31 in the first round to select Jihaad Campbell, the Alabama linebacker — or, at least, linebacker by designation. 
“I don’t want to put this player in a box,” Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told reporters shortly after the selection.
Campbell, a South Jersey native who went to Timber Creek High School before transferring to IMG Academy in Florida, entered college as an edge rusher, and it sounds as if the Eagles view Campbell as both an off-ball linebacker and edge rusher.
