He was supposed to be a 3-down DE. But, I heard he couldn’t drop into coverage, was a deficiency against the run, and when brought in as a third-down rusher, didn’t get there. (The picture shown seems like it is holding, but what do I know?)
Some blame must be attributed to Fangio, who rightfully demands performance. (I’m with Fangio) I’d been hoping Huff would work hard and be better this year, maybe an unexpected leap.
Glad he was traded. Kudos to Howie. He would have been toxic in the locker room.

Exactly, Zach. Get as much as you reasonably can in exchange, then hopefully add a veteran edge rusher or maybe some depth at that position.

Multi-part question about Javon Walker:
– is he really available or is this internet rumors?
– if he’s available, would Eagles need to overpay to get him?
– does Howie believe in overpaying in trades?

The Eagles have a ton of draft capital over the next two years, way more than you can fit on your roster. While I believe in having a ton of draft picks, there’s a such a thing as too much. You saw it last year when Dylan McMahon was picked of the practice squad. You could see losing players with potential this year as well if you don’t have roster space, such as draft picks Cameron Williams or Myles Hinton, long term development players like EJ Jenkins, free agents like Danny Gray and Lewis Cine, and undrafted players like Maxime Hook and Darius Cooper. I’d be fine trading a few draft picks for a good player. However, the issue is paying salary. The Eagles are going to have tons of players on defense over the next few years that are going to need to be paid. I wouldn’t want to trade for a rental, and can you afford to pay a marquee player who’s never been in your locker room?

Ideally, they can roll some of next year’s picks into the next couple of drafts. You are right, they have too many as it stands now. Try to roll a couple of 3’s to get a 2?
