PREACH IT CHARLIE!! I love this kid!
“despite being built like a tank, Frondell shows escapability along the boards and behind the net regularly.” – if you meant he makes people look downright silly at times I would agree. lol
Chris
Alex, damn…you do a fantastic job and I credit Charlie. Sorry bro.
Alex Appleyard
No worries Chris! Thanks and really appreciate it.
3 more deep dives like this coming in the next week or two as ell!
James Classick
I’m sold. Let’s get this guy.
Matthew
Great analysis Charlie. The more I read about the top six, the more I feel I’d be happy with pretty much any of them.
Matthew
I realize now this was Alex, not Charlie. Great writeup, Alex.
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Matthew! Appreciate it and no problem.
Think I might need my own PHLY cartoon avatar for the top of articles going forward aha.
Christopher Greek
Nice work, Alex. I hope Anton ius available when the Flyers pick.
Alex Appleyard
Much appreciated Christopher! More to come in terms of deep dives on guys who might be there at #6!
joemoney4
Love the breakdown Alex! Looking forward to more draft coverage 🙂
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Joe! Will be quite a lot more before the draft. Will be three more deep dives like this then a few more articles too.
jaybes
This was fantastic. Multiple commenters thought it was Charlie’s haha. Good work! Looking forward to the rest of this series.
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Jaybes! Was fun to write and already working on the next one.
Noah Goldstein
Thanks Alex – always love your deep insights on these guys.
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Noah! More in the pipeline.
Andrew Chambers
Great stuff here Alex! Love your analysis. I was hesitant on Frondel because of transition game concerns (especially because Mitchkov’s neutral zone and D zone game is… not great at this point) but reading this and thinking about him with Mitchkov and TK I can see it!
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Andrew… and yeh, if his zone exit work was better he would be a surefire C going forward.
Stephen Shillingford
Great article Alex.
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Stephen! More on the way.
Jason
Very interesting. He seems like a mid-risk, high-reward prospect.
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Jason! And yeh, I think similar. Not a bad option at 6 for sure.
Mark M Engelhart
Nice work, Alex. It may be premature to ask, but of the top six or so prospects, this almost reads as if you think the Flyers will (should?) take Frondell as their first pick. Is that your take on things?
Alex Appleyard
It really depends how things fall.
Hagens would be the dream scenario in my eyes. But Frondell would be a nice consolation.
Will be writing about Hagens, Martone and Desnoyers too in similar style in upcoming weeks!
Donna Matz
This is some fantastic analysis. Looking forward to getting even more info when Alex joins us on Thursday’s podcast.
Donna Matz
This is Bill, btw.
mw20
This is great stuff Alex, would you say that he is “Your guy” for the pick at 6 if he is there?
Alex Appleyard
Depends how things fall! Hagens would be the dream. Then Martone or Frondell would be great in my eyes. And Desnoyers a solid option.
Wesley Rusk
Great article. Really well written.
Alex Appleyard
Thanks Wesley! Much appreciated.
dargs
Awesome stuff, Alex. You are the pinnacle of the hockey world when it comes to prospect write ups!
