The Pronger injury is #1 by far, IMO

Pronger was the big one for me. When he was healthy, the Flyers were a different team. 2012 team with a healthy Pronger would have gone to the cup IMO.

I’ll add two more injury-related ones…. what if Tim Kerr isn’t hurt in the 87 playoffs? What if we had ANY healthy defensemen in 2004 when Sami Kapanen had to move back? Both Game 7 losses….

Yep. Murray Craven also missed the finals that year and I believe Mark Howe was playing with broken ribs. Simply amazing that they were able to take that Oilers team to a game 7.

I think it’s overly simple to say Forsberg would have been dealt anyway. They were high on him. They also would have had a first still in 93 with a lesser roster maybe putting them in range to get Pronger as the Sharks traded back.

I’m not sure how this list doesn’t include Pelle Lindbergh.

If you want to talk about the Flyers goalie “curse” it starts here.

I am an old Flyers Fan. 1976 Cup Finals Flyers swept but lose 3 of 4 by one goal. What If Parent and McLeish are not injured and play the finals. Bernie was worth one less goal per game and McLeish was worth a goal a game, right? 3 consecutive Cups, right?

What if the Flyers didn’t trade Eric Weinrich for a 5th round pick at the 2004 deadline because they wanted to give him an opportunity to play? Then we end up not having to play Kapanen on D. One more D and I think that team beats Tampa – maybe even Calgary….

I’m positive they beat Calgary in 04 if they advanced.

What if Leon Stickle doesn’t blow the obvious offside call in the 1980 Finals?

“What if Ron Hextall listened to his scouts and drafted Heiskanen instead of Patrick?” Can’t believe you didn’t include that one.

Great job on this list, Bill, you have some good ones in there! The show on this was equally as good! If there is some universe where the Flyers win game 7 against the Oilers, I will take that! The Flyers were destined to be dynasty fodder I am afraid, too bad. I still love them but the lows have been real low…
