Bowen: Eagles fans have a winner in Jalen Hurts, while Sixers fans have a brooder in Joel Embiid

It’s the middle of baseball season, and the two Philly athletes I see being discussed most passionately right now are Jalen Hurts and Joel Embiid.
(Yes, I know, All-Star break, those Schwarbombs, and so forth, but I said what I said.)
Eventually, if you read far enough, I’m going to make a point about Hurts and Embiid, in terms of mindset and maturity, so bear with me here. We’ll get there, I promise.
The big Hurts news is that the Eagles’ quarterback ranked ninth among NFL QBs, when ESPN polled NFL executives, coaches and scouts. I guess I’m supposed to be outraged at that. I’m not, though I hope Hurts is, because like a lot of pro athletes, he feeds on all perceived forms of “disrespect.”
