I love when I come looking for a new article and there was one posted an hour ago .. which is very common with how often there is content!

My predictions:
– Zegras will get 50+ points, with the promise of more
– Michkov will cross 70 points
– Tippett and Foerster will be in the 25-30 goal range
– Brink is what he is: a good 40-45 point player
– The Flyers will not be as structurally sound as they were the past few years and the advanced stats for everyone will come back to reality
– More PP goals and goals for – also more goals against. (This i dont mind – in my ideal world, the skaters improve significantly but are let down by poor goaltending and the play of the third defensive pairing – so progress for the youth AND another high pick next year, without actual tanking)

As an aside, I got a good chuckle out of professional athletes complaining that they are “too scared to make mistakes”. What next? A rookie QB saying “I want to be free to throw the ball, and not worry about being reprimanded for INTs”?

There is no reason that Couts cannot be the Flyers’ Jordan Staal – a strong shutdown 3C on a competitive team. We just need to forget about his contract and focus on what he can contribute. Now, about that 1C and 2C . . .

So much will hinge on whether Coots thrives under Tocchet.

There’s a path…
Really looking for Briere to add to the roster during the season if things aren’t working out, especially on D and in net.

You have outlined the major question marks that the Flyers have entering this new season. If many of these are answered positively, the Flyers will have a successful season.
