Kevin Patullo reverted to scared OC hiding under Sirianni. Both Patullo and Sirianni are doing an immense disservice to the players on this offense. This is who they are.
Anthony Giffen
I think I’m the only person who didn’t hate the 4th down call. A good pooch punt would have moved the ball about 25 yards. If it skipped into the end zone or was shanked, it only moves the line of scrimmage 15 yards.
EJ Smith
AuthorI generally agree with you that the 15-25 yards is insignificant, but in a late-game situation when the other team has no timeouts, those 15 yards actually do make a difference.
Niels Rosenquist
I’m with you, I didn’t think it was a bad idea at all given their success with that play on 4th and short. The biggest thing I didn’t like was that AJ didn’t look fully engaged in trying to get the ball and/or PI which again makes me wonder whether he is checked out.
Michael Curran
Incorporate those 15 years into the scenario and the Packer results that followed. McManus would have lined up for a 79 yard FG attempt. Think that was realistic? Or do you think Jordan Love throwing a bomb form his own 39 would have been successful. Yeah the punt was the best option.
Andrew Fernandes
All this talk of going for it on 4th down pales in comparison to why on the previous possession we didn’t run on 2nd or 3rd down. If Packers had been forced to use their time outs the game is over after the Packers fail to convert on 4th down.
Eric Jensen
I was hoping the defender would intercept that last pass, since AJ couldn’t get it. He would have been tackled at the 1 yard line, which is as good as a punt.
