I 100% agree with your comments on how well each line played in this one, Charlie. They legit did not look out of place with a contender. I think we know what their ceiling is now, it’s just about consistently being able to reach it, which is an obvious worry. Really like the way the season is shaping up – keep it going boys!

Just a very good game from the Flyers. One of their best performances of the first half. Dan Vladar? Who knew?

Barkey, from his first game onwards, has looked the business and has shown the vision/passing to have top-6 potential, provided his size holds up.

The Flyers, with a few exceptions, are Team Hufflepuff – a look at the player movement and passing of the Oilers vs that of the Flyers made it very clear. Players just throw the puck at the net and hope something happens (which, to be fair, it did in the case of Seeler’s goal) – but Barkey is one of the few players who has shown the vision to make slick passes to players in dangerous positions. He’s still developing those skills but the potential is so evident.

At some point, the Flyers will need to make a decision re their wingers for next year: Michkov, Zegras, Martone and TK are your top 4, Foerster/Brink/Cates is a legit good line but Barkey has more skills on tap than Brink (IMO) – and I dont see where Tippett fits in all of this. That + draft picks + cap space = promising.

Charlie, what happened to you after the last Flyer’s game? Do you not do a column when the team loses? Nothing from either you or Matz…

The Flyers really played a solid and impressive game after a shortened slow start. Those metrics that you listed were encouraging to see especially against such a quality opponent. Congrats to Barkey on his 1st NHL goal, well earned! Vladar was once again solid in net which was essential for this victory!
