Les,

I too thought the Flyers would get a win at home but like many others they were not going to stand up to the relentlessness of the Hurricanes. With that being said it was an enjoyable season for me. Bouncing the hated Penguins and sending Crosby and Malkin home put the cherry on the top for me with everything coming after it gravy. I am not going to rehash the shortcomings here that is for you and your colleagues to analyze but it was an exciting ride.

Its a young team and I eagerly await next season. Briere and Tocchet need to make some changes/additions, hopefully fix the power play and get ready to RE-IGNITE THE ORANGE!

Let’s go Flyers!

It was Slavin who stepped up on Marotne, intercepted the pass fro Drysdale, and Hall then swooped in and picked it up to carry into the zone. All hail Slavin.

Sorry. Couldn’t get a good replay before writing.

While a case can be made that the Flyers deserved a better fate given their two OT loses, I think with their huge deficiencies in the power play and finishing they probably did their best. I am excited for their future but I have just as much concern. They need to overhaul their power play and I do not see them making the necessary changes that are needed. They refused to change much during the playoffs for no real reason, that is odd to me. I think there is a lot of favoritism with who plays on the power play. They seem more concerned about that than scoring which is strange. I just hope they can take an honest look at themselves and make the necessary adjustments. Until then they will be bottom feeders and perhaps on the other side of the playoffs next season.
