The Philadelphia Phillies put on an OFFENSIVE CLINIC Tuesday night in Washington, rallying past the Nationals 14-9 in a wild, back-and-forth game that ended with an 8-run 9th inning explosion! Bryson Stott homered and drove in 3, Edmundo Sosa had a massive 5-RBI night, and Brandon Marsh went 3-for-6 with a homer and 2 RBI. Jesús Luzardo struck out 13 batters in 6.2 innings and Orion Kerkering picked up the win. 🔥 BRANDON MARSH: FROM MINORS REHAB TO MLB’S BEST HITTER Let’s talk about the elephant in the room — Brandon Marsh has been ELECTRIC. The guy who didn’t record a single hit in April last year, who went on the injured list with a hamstring issue and had to rebuild his confidence in the minors, is now putting together the best season of his career. Marsh has been on an incredible run since May 3rd of last year, and that momentum has carried straight into 2026. He’s hitting .333/.368/.500 this season and leading the team in hits, backed by a .388 BABIP — and unlike most hitters, that’s not luck. It’s who he is. His strikeout rate in 2026 sits at 19.1% — by far the best of his career and now middle-of-the-pack among qualified hitters, a massive improvement over the near-worst-in-the-league marks of previous seasons. The Marsh breakout is REAL, and Tuesday night was just another reminder. In this video, we break down every highlight from the comeback win, discuss what the bullpen situation looks like heading into the trade deadline, which relief pitchers could be realistic targets to upgrade the ‘pen, and preview the week ahead — including the final two games of this Nationals series and a big weekend series against the rival New York Mets at Citi Field.
