PHILADELPHIA — The two-and-a-half week long nightmare for the Philadelphia Flyers is finally over.
The vibes weren’t always at their best — head coach Rick Tocchet was booed prior to puck drop when a video of him was played on the jumbotron, the team fell behind 1-0 for the eighth time in ten games, scattered chants of frustration were heard during play. But in the end, the Flyers found a way to ensure that they would not lose the first ten games of the 2026-27, defeating the Ottawa Senators by a 3-1 final score — a win fueled by their two blue-chip young forwards, Matvei Michkov and Porter Martone.
Both Martone and Michkov finished with a goal and an assist, setting up their respective tallies for each other. Trevor Zegras locked down the victory with an empty-net goal, and Dan Vladar nabbed his first win of the season with a stellar 25-save effort. The Flyers now hold a 1-6-3 record — still one of the league’s worst, but now with the all-important “1” in the win column.

This article had it all, well done, Charlie! I like how you made sure to capture not only all the important moments in and off the ice but you also had an eye towards the future and how to fix the 4th line. I agree with all of it as you have some great suggestions! Wilson and Studnicka have to go, sorry. I would rather have Bump & Knuble any day.
