PHILADELPHIA — This time last week, the Philadelphia Flyers were on the road to historic futility. Now, they’re celebrating a convincing win over one of the Stanley Cup favorites.
Despite missing five regular starters — Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster, Rasmus Ristolainen and Cam York — and entering the game with an ugly 1-6-3 record, the Flyers found a way to take down the heavily-favored Colorado Avalanche by a 3-2 final score for their second straight win. Matvei Michkov led the way with two goals, while Noel Acciari celebrated his by-necessity promotion to Line 1 with his first goal as a Flyer.
Joseph Woll at long last earned his first win as a Philadelphia Flyer, stopping 24 of 26 shots (0.923 save percentage). MacKenzie Blackwood took the loss at the other end of the ice, allowing three goals on 24 Flyers shots.

Yes best game of season by far .

Excellent all around, but Tocchet’s refusal to give Michkov top-end minutes continues to be maddening.

I did hear that brain cell Zegras quote. Entertaining! Great points Charlie! Bonk – you said it all. Knuble and Bonk have earned roster spots until proven otherwise.

Knuble had a nice showing. That give and go with Bump could have been really special.
Sanheim – Bonk is money.
Benoit should not see the ice for the rest of the year.
When we let the kids play we actually have a chance.

Only Tocchet could be so hardheaded as to give more ice time to Acciari than Michkov.

That was fun. New look Flyers I hope. Reminds me of ‘06- ‘10 now. Better goaltending though. Just a couple more years.
