Months after James Harden opted into the final year of his contract and immediately requested a trade, the standoff between Daryl Morey and Harden has been resolved.
Harden gets to go to his preferred destination in the Los Angeles Clippers after all, and the Sixers get to replenish some of the draft assets they have squandered in recent years, putting themselves in position to make a future move and avoiding having to spend all season wondering whether Harden would show up, and how committed he would be, as they waited for the trade market to materialize.
