John Tortorella and the Philadelphia Flyers are of course trying to win as many games as possible during the 2023-24 season. They remain competitors and professionals, and they won't stop believing that a winning season and a playoff berth is possible until the day that they are officially eliminated.
But on some level, they all know that this season is more about building for the future than maximizing the present.
