Farabee’s usage this year is baffling. He’s arguably the 2nd best offensive player on the team behind tk. He’s a legit good player that does everything competently if not really well. He’s already a really good player, and I think he’s going to reach another level, consistently, in the next year or two. The only youngish player currently on the team that i see as having a comparable upside is Forest, and I don’t think it’s a guarantee he gets there.

You would think as a coach if you were going to request a longer leash with a unit, you would have the best players on the ice, that way it would have the best chance of turning it around.

Thompson’s power play decisions this year have often been baffling.

I wonder on more than just pp. It seems one of the fundamentals of player development is working on developing the skills that make a player special. Farabee is a legit good nhl offensive player (he’s already proven it), that might have another level. It seems like you’d want him consistently playing with good offensive players to help him unlock that potential and grow his offensive game. Instead he’s a constant victim of balancing the lines for win now. That’s a big part of my issue with Torts as a rebuild coach.

“I think that’s part of your job. You got a bitch with me about it? You come and talk to me,” he noted. “Beezer has before in situations. Didn’t this time. I think he knew why he was benched. Probably didn’t agree with it, but didn’t feel he needed to come to me. He just kept on practicing, kept on going about it.”

Do the Flyers not have anyone on staff with an understanding of how healthy this interpersonal communication is? It’s baffling.

I think you’re right, I didn’t see it until your comment. Was is the right-handed stick that tipped you?

Yeah, I was trying to figure out why Farabee was shooting right-handed.
