One of the Philadelphia Union’s promising attacking prospects will earn playing time elsewhere in 2024.

Nelson Pierre has been loaned to Swedish second-tier side Skövde AIK, the Union announced Thursday. Skovde currently plays in the Swedish Superettan, which is Sweden’s second division.

A graduate of YSC Academy, Pierre signed a Homegrown contract in February 2023.

Pierre made his MLS NEXT Pro debut in 2022 for Union II and remained a key member of the squad this past season. The 18-year-old has registered nine goals and four assists in 48 MLS NEXT Pro appearances to date.
