PHLY Flyers Podcast: Flyers lose 6th straight Metropolitan Division game to Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals

Despite jumping out to a 2-0 first period lead and looking poised to cruise to a victory, the next 40 minutes were among some of the worst the Flyers have played all year.

Defensive breakdowns, penalties, turnovers, a complete inability to send or receive a pass all killed Philly on Friday night in the nation’s capital. Alex Ovechkin opened up the Caps’ scoring to cut the Flyers lead to 2-1, and it was all Washington from there, as they scored 5 straight to go up 5-2 on Philadelphia.

Along the way Bobby Brink and Olle Lycksell got benched, Sean Couturier saw himself moved back into the top-9, and John Tortorella was not the least bit happy pretty much whenever the camera cut to him. Bill, JP, and Charlie break down the action, including reactions to Danny Briere speaking to the media after the first period.
