Grading the moves: Eagles trade for former 1st-round QB Kenny Pickett, sign veteran LB Oren Burks

The Eagles do not call a lid for the weekend during the first week of free agency. Howie Roseman beat Friday rush-hour traffic by trading with the Pittsburgh Steelers for quarterback Kenny Pickett, a 2022 first-round pick who grew up an Eagles fan in Ocean Township, N.J. The deal became official on Saturday, pending a physical: Pickett and a 2024 fourth-round pick (No. 120 overall) for for a 2024 third-round pick (No. 98 overall) and two 2025 seventh-round picks.
The activity continued on Saturday when they reached a deal with linebacker Oren Burks, according to a league source. (It was first reported by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini as a one-year deal worth up to $2.5 million.)
