Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers kickoff their best-of-seven series in a Round 1 matchup against the New York Knicks, falling 111-104. After getting off to a great start, leading by nine after the first quarter, the Knicks took control in the second by outscoring the Sixers 33-12 and a 12 point halftime lead. New York outrebounded Philadelphia 23-9 leading to plenty of 2nd chance points, playing a key role in the home win.
Embiid tweaked his repaired left knee late in the second quarter, returned after halftime but didn’t appear to be the same when he returned. The big fella finished with 29 points, Tyrese Maxey led all scorers with 33.
Devon Givens, Roy Burton and Jack Bridges breakdown the Sixers Game 1 loss. Derek Bodner and Kyle Neubeck check in live from New York.
