Jeffrey Lurie took the phone from Nick Sirianni and offered a confession to Cooper DeJean. Finding a way to land DeJean kept the Eagles owner — and others —  awake on the night between the first and second rounds of the NFL Draft.
“I didn’t immediately sleep last night because this is what I wanted to have happen,” Lurie told the second-round pick after the Eagles traded in the second round to draft him, as documented in team footage. “We were obsessed with getting you today.”
