Scouting Rodrigo Abols, the Flyers' most recent signing

It sure seems like the Flyers are trying to corner the market on big, mobile European UFA forwards.
After signing hulking winger Oscar Eklind back in April, they inked the 6’4 Latvian pivot Rodrigo Abols to a one-year, two-way, $775,000 deal just this past Saturday. While Eklind was somewhat of a late bloomer, as I outlined in my article on him back when he signed, Abols has a far longer track record and is certainly a more “known commodity." Part of that is the fact that Abols is already 28 years old and has two and a half years on Eklind. But Rodrigo Abols also just has a lot more experience under his belt, period.
