Jamie Drysdale season review: Is a breakout looming, or will the pessimists be proven right?

Jamie Drysdale and Cutter Gauthier will be linked together in the minds of Philadelphia Flyers fans for the remainder of their NHL careers.
That's not a prediction. It's just a fact.
This time last year, Drysdale was in the midst of a fraught contract negotiation with the Anaheim Ducks. Gauthier, on the other hand, was in possession of a secret that would ultimately lead to his exit from the Flyers' prospect pool: he had decided he was no longer interested in playing for Philadelphia. Neither player realized the link that would emerge by mid-January of 2024.
Now, Drysdale is a Flyer, and Gauthier is a Duck. And with both firmly set on their new career trajectories, that should be it.
