Somewhere in all the polemic of tanking, Tortorella, etc, we fans seem to have missed out a simple thing – the team/sporting event must be fun to watch. This is the first time in ages that the Flyers have the potential to be FUN.

I see more questions than answers. The flyers have good (not great) wingers from top to bottom. Other than that, there’s a whole lot of maybes and what ifs at center, on D, and in goal. I could easily see this team competing for the 3-5 spots in the Metro, and could just as easily see them drafting top 10, especially with a key injury or two. It’s going to be an interesting season, to say the least.

@Charlie – I don’t understand the purpose of the rope though? Is it purely symbolic? Couldn’t they just as easily skate around the nets with no rope tied in between?

AuthorIt’s to A) ensure that no one cuts through the middle and that everyone actually goes around the nets and B) so that the distance between the two goals is the same every year. It’s not like the goals are in their normal spot. They’re moved a little bit above the crease. Check out my Post-Practice Notes video from Thursday if you want a visual of it.
