One note on the formatting of these articles — the site has to put the images in different spots. They interrupt the connection of the ellipsis to the next headline and make it seem like the image itself is the completion of the thought.

AuthorGood call. I’ll fix this for future articles.
Thank you!
How do you like the format overall?

It really seems like Hurts can only see 2 options. The primary option and then his check down. When Brown is in, his “check down” is actually roll right look for Brown and let Brown save the day.
With Brown out, it’s primary or check down with no clue what the other guys are doing. That’s why he misses wide open options, he’s not actually looking. He can’t “see” the coverage before the play to make adjustments.
Also, when he breaks the pocket, he’s such a non-threat that defenses have learned to just hold back and not attack him. Then he panics and tries to play hero ball. It’s all very predictable.

I’ve been pretty neutral towards Sirianni and thought keeping him this offseason was the obvious play. Unless things drastically turn around, I think the writing is on the wall for his departure. He just seems exhausted and maybe in over his head. I like the guy and try to give him the benefit of the doubt, but there’s a noxious vibe about this team that’s carried over from last year that seems systemic and I don’t see it going away on its own 🙁
