Joel Embiid is taking it easy to open training camp. Expect more of that

THE BAHAMAS — If it has seemed like there's a strange lack of Joel Embiid in training camp coverage, that is by design. When the media has walked into practice each day, Embiid has been seated or hanging out somewhere along the sideline, wrapped in ice or talking to Paul George about the morning that has just gone by.
Thursday was not exactly a ramp-up day in that regard. Embiid's only work in view of the media was some end-of-practice free throws that he put up in slippers, as he laughed with Sixers coaches seeing him through the workout.
