Andrae looks like the much better PP1 QB to this untrained eye, although I understand Drysdale is seen as the future and needs the reps. One thing that I’ve wondered is if the Sanheim-Andrae pairing continues to produce such strong results, can the Flyers partner York with someone else to give them a top four akin to last year when Seeler-Walker helped elevate the corps as a whole? York-Drysdale maybe or Risto?

Obviously making a trade near the deadline would increase the value of whoever the front office is willing to let go, but maybe they can figure something out and let him stay? Interesting decisions ahead.

Charlie, what are the chances Zamula gets taken if the Flyers try to get him through waivers? I can see the risk, as there are probably some clubs where he might be an upgrade, but would he being claimed actually have a big impact on their rebuild pathway?

My thought exactly. Do we really think Zamula would be claimed if waived? Do we think we’d be worse off if we lose him versus clearing his cap space / roster spot?

I really don’t see them waiving Zamula. No. 1, there’s a nonzero chance they’d lose him. No. 2, he’s Michkov’s best bud on the team. Frankly, they should be willing to deal with a little frustration on having a poor-performing d-man on the roster if it makes Michkov’s transition to North America a bit smoother. And so should the fans.

I feel like when York comes back a York, sanhiem, Andrae / and Seeler top 4 (in any combination as long – as this version of Andrae sticks around) is at least as good as our top 4 last year. That would also let you shelter Drysdale-risto for drysdale’s development.

Like I said at the time, they never should have signed EJ this offseason. EA would have been #7 and would have taken Zamulas spot earlier this year
