Flyers squander comeback and chance to upset defending champs, fall 7-5 to Panthers

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers came ever so close to taking down the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers on Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center.
But with the minutes ticking down in the third period, the champs reminded the upstart of why they remain the class of the NHL.
Gustav Forsling's goal with 5:17 left in the third period tied the contest at 5-5, and then Sam Reinhart potted the gamewinner on the power play with 1:59 remaining, sending the Panthers to a wild 7-5 victory over the Flyers, a game which included Flyers comebacks from 3-0 and 4-2 in the second period.
