The Philadelphia 76ers (15-20) are back in the win column after a nail-biting win over the Washington Wizards (6-29) on Wednesday night, 109-103. Guerschon Yabusele started at center and had the game-saving block for the 76ers with under 20 seconds to play and continues to show his value to the team, also knocking down five 3s en route to 21 points, and collecting eight rebounds. After shooting just 3-13 from the field and 1-10 from beyond in the first half for eight points, Tyrese Maxey dropped 14 in the third quarter and finished with a game-high 29 on the night. Maxey also handed out a team-high seven assists.
Kelly Oubre Jr. added 15 points, four boards, four assists and two steals. Eric Gordon got the start in the backcourt with Maxey and went 3 for 5 from long distance for 15 points overall. Washington’s Jared Butler came off the bench to net a team-high 26 in the loss, Corey Kispert poured in 23.
