PHILADELPHIA -- Against Toronto on Sunday and Tuesday, the Philadelphia Flyers played well enough to win, even in defeat.
That wasn't even close to the case on Thursday versus the Western Conference powerhouse Dallas Stars.
Dallas took the lead just 105 seconds into the goal on a Mavrik Bourque goal, and never looked back, cruising to a 4-1 victory. Sam Ersson took the hard-luck loss in goal in his first game back since suffering a lower-body injury on December 31; he made 19 stops on 22 shots. Casey DeSmith earned the win for Dallas (27 saves on 28 shots), while Morgan Frost was the Flyers' only goal scorer on the evening.
