The Philadelphia Flyers came within six minutes of earning their third straight victory. Instead, they gave a division rival the chance to extend its winning streak to a season-high five games.
Zach Werenski scored his second goal of the night with 4:37 remaining in the third period to tie the game, and in the shootout, both Kent Johnson and Kirill Marchenko lit the lamp, leading the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-2 win over the Flyers.
Bobby Brink and Owen Tippett were the goal scorers for Philadelphia. Daniil Tarasov earned the win in goal for the home team (23 saves) while Ivan Fedotov (26 saves on 28 shots) was the hard-luck loser.
