Darius Slay keeps a red plastic gas tank next to his locker. It’s a reminder throughout the day, from the bleary-eyed mornings when he walks into the Eagles’ facility at 6:30 a.m. to those Wednesday practices that he calls the only time of the week when he feels 34 through the conversations and advice and laughs he shares with the young cornerbacks surrounding him. The yellow Post-It note is still on the gas tank from when defensive backs coach Christian Parker quietly delivered it as a motivational tactic.
