PHILADELPHIA -- It didn't have to be pretty. The Philadelphia Flyers just needed to find a way to halt their losing streak before the looming break for the Four Nations tournament, so they wouldn't have to spend two weeks stewing on their struggles.
They did just that -- but it certainly wasn't pretty.
Overcoming a first half of the game that saw the Flyers barely have the puck, they proved opportunistic enough to take an early lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins, and then hang on for a 3-2 victory, halting their five-game skid.
