Flahr: “I still have a hard time getting my feet around what happened to last year.”[with Desnoyers].
Is that a common expression? I’ve never heard that before.

Good article Charlie, however here is the problem. The Flyers do not have one elite prospect in the pipeline. There are no 1C, 1-D, or championship Goalie prospects. None. The Flyers are loaded with peripheral prospects but are in serious need of these three tentpoles for a Stanley Cup Champ. And, worse, there is no clear path to acquiring a 1-C. 1-D. or elite Goalie. The Torts teams will always overachieve with peripheral talent and end up in the 15 to 25 draft area. Having three number one picks in the 25 to 30 area will not result in an elite prospect. That is were supporting talent is found, not the top superstars. They need to tank into the top 5 of the draft for a couple of years, or DB has to overpay in a trade to get one of the three superstars building blocks. But this mediocre winning record and ok not great prospect pool is not going to lead to a Cup. Nope. Time for a key strategic plan change for DB and Jonesy and Hilferty. Gotta start with the stars, then fill in with the rest. Fill-ins are easy to find, stars are not, but that is what they must find. Stars.
