DB and Jonesy need to get the superstar building blocks in place for this rebuild, as a foundation strategy, then add around the edges. With no superstars in the pipeline, DB has to find a way to overpay to get a 1-C. a 1-D, and an elite goalie, so he has to be willing to part with some perceived pearls and picks to acquire these three spots. For example, he may have to trade Jett, one of the top goalie prospects, two number one picks and maybe even Konecny for a stud 1-C to play with MM over the next decade. Is this an overpay? Maybe, but so what, if that is what it takes to get a superstar young 1-C for the next decade, Flyers must must do it. 1-C is where it all starts. Then build around the roster afterwards. They need a Lindros type talent for 1-C and a Mark Howe type talent for 1-D. Gotta start there. Otherwise the so-called rebuild is just delusional nonsense.
