Ersson has played poorly late in the season 2 years in a row. Seems like a pattern … is he overworked again?

I would argue Ersson’s play has fallen off at the best possible time. Who cares what happens over the last six weeks? This team isn’t making the playoffs, so let’s stink up the joint and head for the cellar. Next year, the only thing that will matter about these games is which pick they secured.

I don’t disagree it’s ok for them to lose most or all of their remaining games in regards to draft position. In regards to evaluating Ersson, it’s not good that he’s looked cooked at the end of season 2 years in a row. Maybe he’s a 1b or a backup at best and he’s overworked again? Hard to know ….

What kind of goaltending prospects are in the Draft ? Is there anyone worthy of a 1st round pick ? Close to stepping in ? I think Ersson is showing that he will not be the goalie of the future , perhaps a backup. Great work Charlie…. former athletic reader.

There is one clear-cut 1st round goalie prospect this year in Joshua Ravensbergen.

But don’t forget that the Flyers already have a pretty robust goalie pipeline. Egor Zavragin is a blue-chipper in my eyes, and Carson Bjarnason is a solid B/B+ netminding prospect. They need better goaltending at the NHL level, yes, but they do have guys coming. It’s not a major PROSPECT need at the moment.
