With the Bruins regulation tie Tuesday, the Flyers find themselves in a three way tie with the Bruins and Kraken, with 76 points. BTW, very nice loss by the Flyers Tuesday. If the Flyers lose their last game Thursday, and the Kraken lose out (the Bruins are done), these three will end up tied for fourth worst record for draft lottery purposes. So, question for Charlie, or anyone who cares to comment, what are the tie-breaker rules here? If these three teams all finish with 76 points, who gets the 4th lottery position, who fifth, and who sixth? Anyone know?
Bob MCH
Got the answer. If Flyers lose on Thursday, they end up with the fourth best odds going into the draft lottery, as they would have the fewest regulation wins of the three teams tied in points.
Also, good to know Flyers are deep in future 3rd and 4th liners, with Bump and Kaplan joining the long list. DB is great at getting 3rd and 4th liners. Maybe they can win a cup with the most 3rd and 4th line talent in the league some day.

DB didn’t pick those guys. Do you ever rest with the negativity?
Bob MCH
They are the fourth worst team in the league. Have not won a Cup in 49 years. Are you blind?

Wait – i thought Bump was picked in the 5th round? I don’t think they had a 2nd rounder in the year they drafted Cutter.
Great article otherwise!

AuthorKaplan and Bump were their second and third picks in the 2022 draft. They were not second and third round picks. The order was:
1st round: Gauthier
2nd round: no pick
3rd round: Kaplan
4th round: no pick
5th round: Bump
So I wasn’t wrong. That was worded very intentionally 🙂
