The draft is finally at hand, and I have great news: You do not have to read my mock draft, because I did not create one!
For many years at the Daily News and then the Inquirer, I had to pretend I had some idea of what the Los Angeles Chargers or the Cleveland Browns were going to do on draft day. I had no idea. I looked at draft experts’ mocks, and then if I was feeling really industrious I maybe called a beat writer for one of those teams and got his or her thoughts.
But my mocks, like most, lacked credibility. I had no idea what trades might occur. And I was drafting the way most teams claim never to draft -- “The Browns had bad X last year, so I’m gonna give them an X.” As Eagles general...
