NEW ORLEANS – Jeff Stoutland is football’s most acclaimed offensive line coach. He turns 63 the day after Super Bowl LIX. I asked him Wednesday if he ever thinks about running his own offense or his own team.
Older coaches are a trending topic in the NFL right now. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is 66, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is 66, and his defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, is 65. The Raiders just hired Pete Carroll, the oldest head coach in NFL history, who turns 74 in September.
So, you have to wonder – as much as Stoutland appreciates the fit in Philly, where he has coached since 2013 under Chip Kelly, Doug Pederson and Nick Sirianni, where Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Rosem...
