Bowen: Eagles' Jordan Davis and Nolan Smith say they know they must step up

Another set of press conferences off Eagles OTAs this week, more reassuring answers from players in the spotlight.

I was most interested Thursday in the words of defensive tackle Jordan Davis and edge rusher/linebacker Nolan Smith, two guys who need to be more productive this season for the Eagles to finish among the NFC’s top contenders.

They both seemed energized and motivated, well aware of heightened expectations, as the Eagles embark upon the first year of the post-Fletcher Cox era. As Davis said, a couple of times, “nobody’s coming to save us now.”
