NEW ORLEANS – Sitting on a jammed media bus in rush-hour traffic Monday, crawling toward the Superdome via the most congested, slowest possible route, I started to have second thoughts.
This all started when PHLY told me they could get me a credential for Super Bowl week, though not for the game itself. Get to New Orleans Monday, leave Friday, have the experience of covering the Eagles on the NFL’s biggest stage one more time. Seemed ideal.
I retired from the Philadelphia Inquirer in the summer of 2021. I don’t regret it, but I will say I did not envision the team getting to the Super Bowl twice in three seasons, starting the year after I left. I was missing out on all the fun!
Lots of thing...
