As the Eagles steamrolled the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, announcers Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady kept telling us what a great job the Chiefs were doing in limiting Saquon Barkley.
Their fixation frustrated me, because, obviously, the story there was that while the Chiefs achieved their No. 1 objective, IT DIDN’T MATTER ONE BIT.
The Eagles still built a 34-0 lead late in the third quarter, on the strength of their dominating defense and their passing game. That’s how good this team was Sunday.
