Saying the right thing can end up not meaning much, but at this point in the offseason, we work with what we have. Wednesday, what we had was a series of news conferences from the first week of Eagles OTAs, and everything that was said seemed reassuring.
I was particularly interested in Jalen Carter’s words. With Fletcher Cox retired, Carter is the Eagles’ most talented defensive lineman, maybe the team’s most talented defensive player. He started his rookie season in 2023 as a game-changer, looking like the defensive rookie of the year and a Pro Bowl candidate. Carter didn’t end up winning either of those honors.
